Drew has prepared the academic fundamentals needed to succeed in the engineering program. I felt that the core classes, such as Differential Equations and Mechanics, established a strong foundation for engineering. Being a physics major also helped since many mechanical engineering fundamentals are based on physics principles, management and trade finance.
I am currently taking an aerodynamics class right now, and so far, it has been one of my favorite classes because my interest in engineering stemmed from aviation and rocketry. In addition, the professor is a former Navy pilot who has tested iconic aircrafts such as the V-22 Osprey, and the insights he brings into the classroom are invaluable.
I enjoyed studying in a close-knit community where I knew everyone in my major. The classes were also small and interactive, so I had personal connections with the
professors who many, if not all, knew me by name. The beautiful campus surrounded by trees and squirrels was a great mood booster.
I feel like there are too many to list! My physics professor/dual degree coordinator Dr. Jim Supplee was definitely a big help during my stay. We regularly discussed my academic progress, and he would recommend classes that would best prepare me for exams.
I will be analyzing the thermal system of computer processors and hopefully come up with ingenious solutions to cool them down.
I am most excited to meet people who have dedicated their careers to the semiconductor industry, as well as have the opportunity to interact with state-of-the-art technologies. I am also thrilled to apply my engineering knowledge to an actual product.
